TBA ~ Leopard Cub
This leopard cub has captivated me from the moment I first saw it. I've drawn it at least 10 times in several different mediums trying to find something other than scratchboard to do it in, (full disclosure, I was looking for something quicker). I started with charcoal and pastel and moved through colored pencil and landed on - you guessed it, scratchboard. I wanted to get the eyes just right because they're what drew me to the reference photo and a digital scratchboard was the only way to work it out beforehand. I'll add some of the in-between versions eventually but for now I've included a colored pencil WIP and my digital scratchboard versions. I'm still trying to decide placement on shape of the board. I like the square canvas best I think and I have a 36" x 36" board it would look amazing on but a smaller rectangle or square piece might be more prudent.
