This is a Clouded Leopard named Tate who also lives at the EFBC in Rosamond, CA. He also has a mate who will give him some cubs soon and I cannot wait! Clouded leopards are extremely rare and even in captivity they're difficult to view - they tend to hide wherever they can and aren't very social. But on the day I took his picture Tate was a happy boy, the addition of his new lady friend, Kyoke, has really brought out the rascal in him. I have a few more pictures of Tate and Kyoke planned for the gallery next year. With their beautiful markings and expressive eyes, clouded leopards are amazing cats. Tragically Tate has passed away at the very young age of three. He had a history of digestive problems and finally succumbed in 2013. He will be missed dearly, he was a beautiful boy.
