Orso
This is a female Grizzly Bear from the Rome Zoo in Italy, (yes, hence the name Orso, Italian for bear). Another amazing day on my trip, this female and her mate rolled and played and chewed on each other for a good 30 minutes and I took hundreds of photos of them. It's so strange to see such a mighty beast in such a playful mood, when you think grizzly, you don't tend to think 'cute and playful'.
I love this pose because she has such a look of mischief to her and they way the sun was highlighting her fur from behind there were so many colors! You might also think 'brown" when it comes to a grizzly bear but they are actually full of colors from violet to green to orange. I have several more of this series planned including her and her mate together.
