Amur leopards are one of the most beautiful creatures you'll ever be blessed to see (and not a typical resident in your local zoo). Their expressive eyes will capture your heart the moment you gaze into them. Unlike your typical African Leopard, critically endangered Amurs are a sub-species that live in temperate forests of North Eastern Asia and are hunted heavily for their beautiful coats. The small population left is also struggling against habitat destruction and a diminished prey population. As of May 2018 they think the population is 103 cats left in the wild, mostly due to the efforts of the Russian government in creating the Land of the Leopard National Park.
The EFBC currently has 5 older Amur Leopards, living out their days in peace and quiet. They're is always in need of supporters to their cause! Visit their website at www.cathouse-fcc.org
